Diary Entry #1 and #2 (Japan's Invasion of China and the Start of War with the USA, 1937-41):
July 10, 1937
After waking this morning I ate breakfast with my son, Calvin. We talked about the issues in East Asia, particularly Japan. After talking for some time, I noticed that it was already eight o'clock, so I walked him to school. I came back home to read the daily paper and I was surprised to read that Japan had begun a second Sino-Japanese War with China. With Japan's withdrawal from the League of Nations and their desire for more land, I fear that it is only a matter of time before they come to America. The Jap's have become surprisingly strong and have grown quickly. Soon Soviet Russia and other countries in East Asia will be involved in this conflict, it may perhaps turn into a big war. Americans are very cautious right now, World War I was devastating and we do not want to go into another war that big. Later that day, I received a letter from my son, Michael. He told me how his move to Hawaii was successful and that he has already found a job. He also wrote that he is considering joining the military. I am proud that my son would join the army, he is very brave and I miss him a lot. I can not wait until he visits home again sometime next year. Calvin also misses him dearly, and is awaiting his return. About an hour later I went to the airport to fly from Washington D.C. to New York City. The flight took about 2 hours. After going to dinner with crew members, I went returned to the airport in New York City and flew back to Washington D.C. Because my boss told me to go to Singapore, one of the islands in Pacific, I headed there and befriend with British officer, Alexandar. I told him what I had seen from recent newspapers. I told him that Japan attained Germany’s formal colonies Pacific - Caroline, Marshall, and Mariana Islands, rather than earning them. He asked me, "how did they acquire these islands?" I kindly answered that European officers, such a generous benefactors, granted the colonies as the compensations for participating in the World War with the League of Nations.

The Jap's have just bombed Pearl Harbor. Those bastards will pay for what they have done.
My son Michael was killed by the Japanese during the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Next week, I am going to go down to the army recruiting office and I am going to volunteer my services so I can avenge my sons death. Although I feel bad about leaving Calvin home all alone, he is seventeen and can take care of himself, it is my duty as an American to fight for my country. I was so angry that later that night, a few buddies of mine and I beat up a Japanese man living nearby. His name is Naruto Sasuke, and he has a family living in Tokyo, Japan. One of his younger brothers name is Uchiha Sasuke. He goes to high school in Tokyo and lives with his family, but soon they will all be defeated by America. It will not be easy though, Japan has become strong. They have taken over Indochina, Korea, Taiwan, and some other countries. What is important is stopping the Jap's from progressing any further before it is too late. Japan attacked us without saying anything. Their actions have given us a reason to show them no mercy when we fight them.
Diary Entry #3 and #4:
December 20, 1943
It's been two years since I joined the army. I have become an aviator for the U.S. navy. In 1942, we fought against the Jap's in the Doolittle Raid. This was the first air raid against the Jap's by America. It was led by Lieutenant Colonel James "Jimmy" Doolittle, he is a brave man and led us to success. The victory has boosted all of our confidence and and the Japanese have lost some of their confidence. We launched from the aircraft carrier USS Hornet, me and sixteen other pilots flying B-25B Mitchell medium bombers.
B-25B bombers
All of the aircraft were lost. A Japanese officer named Uchiha Itachi was one of the officers in charge of shooting down some of the planes. After taking much damage from enemy fire, my plane landed in Vladivostok, in the Soviet Union where it was confiscated as with me and my crew. We were later released and me and my crew managed to sneak past Japan in a boat back to America. After we got there we met with many high ranking officials to tell them what happened to us specifically and we were offered to be honorably discharged for our services but we decline and went back to fighting in the war. To fight Japan, we used a technique called island hopping. It is where we attack islands that are the least secure. It was working very well and we were making good progress, it is only a matter of time before we reach inland Japan. Lately I have heard rumors that American scientists are working on a weapon so powerful that it can destroy cities. It must be a false rumor because a weapon that powerful seems unimaginable.
June 28, 1944
Yesterday, on June 27, I was flying my F4U corsair to fight against a Japanese air raid on the island of Saipan. The Battle of Saipan started on June 15. So far it is a great success for America, but unfortunately not for me. I was shot down by a Japanese anti-air gun. I managed to eject from the plane before I crashed and parachuted down. I have not seen any Japanese forces or any friendly's either. Two days after that, a Japanese Lieutenant named Akainu Hachiro found me and took me prisoner. I was surprised that he did not tell anyone and secretly kept me in a shed. He gave me food and clothes in exchange that I answer some of his questions. He spoke fairly good English but he had a heavy Japanese accent. I agreed upon his terms because he showed kindness and he seemed to understand what I must be going through. He asked me my name and questions about where I am from. We then talked about our family's and how we miss them dearly. Two days later, the American army was advancing towards the camp in which I was being held. Akainu, told me that he must retreat and that I will be able to join my army again once they come. That is the last I ever saw of Akainu. After being reunited with my fellow friends and comrades, I was soon back in a plane. During air raids, I always got a sudden feeling that I might have just dropped a bomb on Akainu, I was worried that I might have been the one that killed him or that he might already be dead. On July 9, 1944, American forces have successfully taken over Saipan which is a key strategic area against Japan's homeland. The Battle of Saipan was the battle that decided who would win the war in the Pacific.
